Tropical Sunrise Protein Smoothie (Printable)

Creamy blend of tropical fruits with protein boost for energizing mornings.

# What You'll Need:

→ Fruit

01 - 1 cup frozen mango chunks
02 - 1/2 cup frozen pineapple chunks
03 - 1 small banana, sliced

→ Liquids

04 - 1 cup fresh orange juice
05 - 1/2 cup unsweetened coconut milk

→ Protein

06 - 1 scoop vanilla protein powder (whey or plant-based)

→ Extras (optional)

07 - 1 tablespoon chia seeds
08 - 1 teaspoon honey or agave syrup
09 - Ice cubes, as needed

# Directions:

01 - Add the frozen mango chunks, pineapple chunks, sliced banana, orange juice, coconut milk, and vanilla protein powder to a high-speed blender.
02 - If desired, add chia seeds, honey or agave syrup, and a handful of ice cubes for a colder, thicker consistency.
03 - Blend on high speed until the mixture is completely smooth and creamy, scraping down the sides of the blender jar as needed to ensure even blending.
04 - Divide the smoothie evenly between two glasses and serve immediately. Garnish with a slice of fresh fruit or a light sprinkle of chia seeds if desired.

# Expert Tips:

01 -
  • It takes roughly five minutes from the time you open the freezer to the time you are sipping something that tastes like vacation.
  • The protein powder blends in so seamlessly you forget it is there, which is honestly the highest compliment I can give protein powder.
02 -
  • Protein powder can clump if you dump it straight onto frozen fruit so layer it between the liquids and fruit for the smoothest blend.
  • If your blender is not high speed, let the frozen fruit sit for two minutes before blending because burned out motors are not a fun breakfast story.
03 -
  • Freeze your bananas when they are at peak ripeness with brown spots because that is when they are sweetest and they will blend into the smoothest texture.
  • A pinch of salt sounds wrong in a smoothie but it actually sharpens all the tropical flavors and makes everything taste more vibrant.
